Is delivery included in the price of the instrument?
Unless specifically stated in our price quotation, shipping is not included in the price of an instrument. We do, however, provide you with an "estimated" shipping charge on our price quotations. Our shipping charge estimates are usually based on a 5-day delivery (continental U.S.). If subsequent to the price quotation, expedited or rush delivery is requested, shipping charges usually increase dramatically.
On occasion, clients have come to our location in Golden, Colorado to pick-up their instruments. In these cases, obviously, there are no delivery charges.
Who does AIR Instrument Delivery?
Our routine shipping company, TransAir, (phone: 800-926-2478) has been an outstanding partner with AIR for almost three years. During that time we have had virtually no insurance claims and only a few late deliveries. For 3 to 5 day service, we use TransAir. For two-day service we use UPS or Federal Express and for overnight service we use Federal Express.
On occasion, AIR will also provide its own delivery services. For large orders, or for large heavy instruments, such as ICAP's, we have determined that AIR is best qualified to provide instrument delivery.
What is included in the Delivery Service?
Our delivery service price includes shipping, handling and insurance. Handling charges include packaging and our direct costs for labor and shipping materials. All of our equipment is insured for damage during shipping.
